JACKSONVILLE, AR (KAIT/KARK) -A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the opening of the new facility on April 16.
Governor Asa Hutchinson and Congressman French Hill took a tour of the new Sig Sauer facility in Jacksonville.
The company produces brass, bullets, and loads for premium pistols, along with rifle ammunition for the military, local law enforcement and commercial use.
President Ron Cohen praised the design and look of the new facility.
Governor Hutchinson also spoke about how important the expansion of the new facility is for the state of Arkansas.
“This is really great for central Arkansas because they started out with 60 employees and now they’re up to 160,” Hutchinson said. “They’re growing as a company, but it also helps small towns across Arkansas that have contracts with Sig Sauer supply whether it’s cartridges, brass or whatever the items are.”
