Jonesboro police launch website to find missing people

Website launched to find missing persons

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Every day someone goes missing in the United States. Jonesboro is no exception. Right now, police need your help finding five missing people.

According to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), more than 400,000 people are currently missing in the United States.

In Arkansas, the Jonesboro Police Department reports there are more than 500 unsolved missing persons cases ranging from the ages of two to 99. They are currently working to solve five of those cases.

Detective Sgt. Chris Poe said there are steps involved in the cases.

“I come in and look for the missing juveniles as well as adults who are reported to the police department,” Poe said. “I make a follow-up investigation inquiry with the person who filed the complaint and see if there’s anything additional that we can do to help find that person.”

Poe said there are ways the community can help.

“The community could go online to our website and find the list of people that we’re actively pursuing,” he said. “Familiarize yourself with those individuals and keep an eye out for them. We’d appreciate any help that they can give us.”
