JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The iconic rock wall in the downtown Gearhead Outfitters, Inc. location was taken out of the store Friday, but all for a good cause.
Owner Ted Herget donated the rock wall to the city, which plans to set it up at the Earl Bell Community Center park where kids will be able to climb and play on the wall all the time.
The wall has been in the store since they moved from Flint Street to the downtown location in 2002.
Herget said the wall is a unique feature, and he looks forward to seeing kids use it outside of the store.
Herget donated the wall to the city in an effort to help get kids in the area active and excited about the outdoors.
A fitting station for bikes, running gear and skis is set to take up the space in the store.
Herget hopes the rock wall will be set up in the park sometime in the next few weeks.
