POINSETT COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Rainy weather isn’t stopping workers from improving one county’s drainage system.

In fact, it seems like the perfect time to clear ditches.

The Poinsett County Road Department received a flood mitigation grant to improve drainage in the Greenfield area.

Despite the recent rains, crews have been clearing brush and trees, replacing culverts, and digging out more than a mile of ditches.

The road department stated on social media Friday that it plans to apply for more of the grants.
