JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -Pocahontas residents are excited about construction beginning on a new business.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday for the new Jordan’s Travel Center in Pocahontas.
It will be located at the corner of Highway 304 and U.S. Hwy 67 south near the Black River Technical College.
President and CEO of Jordan’s, Jackie McClure, said groundwork has begun and they are already hoping to have the 5,500-square-foot business open by the end of July.
McClure said the business will be a larger style truck stop and will feature their newer design.
It will have 16 fueling stations located in the front and six in the back and will feature two entryways from Highway 67 as well at two from Highway 304 for ease of access..
It will be nearly identical to the Jordan’s Travel Center in Portia that opened last year.
McClure said they will be hiring 20 to 25 employees.
A manager will be brought in from another site and hiring should begin in about a month.
The present Jordan’s Kwik Stop located at 1908 highway 67 South will remain open.
Jordan’s is a family-owned business founded in 2002.
