OSCEOLA, AR (KAIT) - Air Products announced on Monday an agreement to build, own, and operate a second air separation unit.
Our content partner Talk Business & Politics reports that it will support Big River Steel’s expansion at the Osceola steel mill.
The new unit is set to be on-stream in January 2021 and adds to Air Products’ existing unit at the location.
It will provide oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to both Big River Steel and the merchant market.
“Big River Steel is pleased with Air Products’ performance and I look forward to expanding our relationship as Big River Steel doubles its steel making capacity,” said Big River Steel CEO David Stickler.
Talk Business & Politics reports that the two companies’ current long-term industrial gas supply contract was extended several years.
The deal’s financial terms were not disclosed.
