A low pressure system is spinning over the ArkLaTex this morning with severe thunderstorms rolling across the deep south.

We do not expect strong thunderstorms in Region 8 today, although widespread rain is picking up in our western counties.

Rain chances will slowly increase across the Mid-South over the next 36 hours as a cold front slowly invades the region.

Rainfall totals around one inch with spotty higher amounts.
