According to a Facebook post from the Arkansas State Fire Fighter Association, 75-year-old Michael Watkins, a driver and engineer with the Northeast Lakeside Fire Department in Mountain Home, suffered a heart attack while responding to a brush fire on Sunday, April 21.

According to the post, Watkins was taken to the hospital where he passed away on Wednesday, April 24.

The post asks to remember Watkins and his family in prayer during this time.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, May 4.
