Jonesboro woman killed, one injured in crash on Highway 141, ASP says

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Craighead County woman was killed and another person was hurt Friday in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 141 in Greene County.

Carolyn Pumphrey of Jonesboro was driving north on Highway 141 in a 2003 Volkswagen Bug when the crash happened around 3 p.m. May 10, according to a preliminary fatal crash summary from the Arkansas State Police.

The report noted that the vehicle left the east side of the road and collided with a tree.

A passenger, who was in the vehicle with Pumphrey, was taken to a Jonesboro hospital due to her injuries, ASP said.

Philadelphia Fire Department crews went at the scene of the crash, officials said.

According to Jonesboro E-911 Director Jeff Presley, the crash happened in the 7100 block of Highway 141 near Lake Frierson.

Crews also closed the road at the Craighead/Greene County line due to the crash.
