JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -It was not “Green Eggs and Ham” but something else green and leafy that led to the arrests of three people Thursday, according to Jonesboro police.
Josh Ezekial Richardson and Shawna G. Needham, both of Jonesboro, and Frances Rena Burch of Parkin were arrested May 9 after the Jonesboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit went to the 2200 block of Belt Street to serve a search warrant.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers found Burch babysitting a two-year-old child at the house. Officers found marijuana in five different bags in the house as well as a loaded AR-15 pistol and $2,332 in cash in a nearby bedroom.
Police also found meth and two glass pipes in Burch’s purse as well as other items in the living room and kitchen.
“There was a small bag of marijuana on the coffee table as well as another bag on the kitchen counter. There was a Dr. Seuss book on the coffee table that had loose marijuana,” the affidavit noted. “Josh Richardson arrived at the residence and stated that he lived there and was placed into custody.”
Police also said Needham lived at the residence.
Richardson was arrested on suspicion of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of schedule VI with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Needham was arrested on suspicion of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of schedule VI with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, 3rd degree endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest-refusal to submit to arrest.
Burch was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth or cocaine less than two grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A $125,000 bond was set for Richardson and Needham Friday, while a $3,500 bond was set for Burch.
The child was turned over to state custody, police said.
