PINE BLUFF, AR (KAIT/KARK) - An EF-1 tornado caused damage this week in Pine Bluff, injuring four people and destroying two apartment complexes.
According to a report from Little Rock television station KARK, the storm pushed winds between 86 and 110 mph May 8 through Pine Bluff.
The storm also uprooted trees and power poles, leaving about 70 people in an apartment complex without a home.
Jason Sanders, whose apartment was damaged, said the storm was loud and scary.
“The transformers blew in front of us, it was like a loud bang back to back like five in a row, and when we initially opened the door, the sirens started to go off and we looked to our right and all the bricks of the nearby apartment was scattered through the building,” Sanders told KARK.
Both the Red Cross and the Salvation Army have been helping people impacted by the storm.
