JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The 5th Annual Mother’s Day 5K at NEA Baptist raised money to support families in need.
ShareHope worked to raise money to support families who suffered the loss of a child.
Saturday’s race had about 200 people in attendance to run in support of giving to those who have lost a loved one.
Race Director Kara Fowler said the race is chosen for this time of year for a reason.
“Every year, it’s on Mother’s Day so moms can come out with their kids and support this event,” Fowler said. “It’s very important for this money to help these families that are in need.”
The money raised goes to aid those families going through loss with counseling, funeral costs and many other ways of support.
