JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -A pregnant woman is assaulted and a man has been arrested.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Jonesboro police officers responded to the Happy Nails Salon at 2917 East Nettleton on Feb. 27.
The report said the female on scene said her ex-boyfriend, Cordero Riley, came to the salon where she was a customer and assaulted her. She said he came into the business and was yelling and cursing her. She convinced him to go outside to prevent anymore of a scene. While outside, a juvenile said the victim told Riley she was pregnant. This upset him and he began to push her.
Court documents said when she fell to the ground, Riley began to kick the victim. As a result of the assault, the victim sustained bruising on her lower stomach and groin area.
Riley is being charged with domestic battery in the third degree with a felony enhancement because he caused injury while knowing she was pregnant.
He appeared in court on May 13.
His bond was set at $25,000 and his next court date will be on May 31 at the Craighead County Courthouse.
