LAKE CITY, Ark (KAIT) -An officer has been arrested for domestic violence.
According to an incident report, on May 12 a Lake City police officer responded to a call from a nurse at NEA Baptist Hospital.
The nurse said a patient was in the emergency room seeking treatment for assault from her boyfriend who was a Marked Tree police officer.
The nurse further stated the alleged victim didn’t want to file a report, but felt she needed to contact law enforcement.
The report said she told the officer she and her boyfriend, 39-year-old Marc Taylor, were in an argument.
She said he wanted to get into the bedroom where they had a dog they were watching for some friends. She stepped in front of the door to keep him from getting in until she got the dog out. The victim said Taylor kicked the door in and she started to fall back. She further stated he grabbed her by the wrist and pushed his way through the door. She stated she then heard a pop in her hand. Her left wrist was swollen, and she said she was in pain.
The officer then contacted the Marked Tree Police Department and spoke to Taylor, telling him to return to Lake City.
Taylor complied and went to the Lake City Police Department.
He told the responding officer he was trying to get his things and leave when she was blocking the door. Taylor said he grabbed her fingers, prying them from the door frame and her wrist to get into the room.
He was then placed under arrest for domestic battery in the third degree.
Region 8 News has reached out to Marked Tree Police Chief Chester Ford, on the status of Officer Taylor, but have yet to hear back.
