Jonesboro police investigate robbery in Dollar General parking lot, robbery now in inactive status

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are still searching for a suspect in a parking lot holdup.

The alleged robbery took place just before 7:30 Thursday night at the Dollar General in the 3600-block of South Stadium Boulevard, according to a desk sergeant.

Sally Smith, public information specialist for the Jonesboro Police Department, said an individual was robbed in the store’s parking lot.

Officers searched the area, but could not find the suspect.

Investigators also checked surveillance video Thursday evening for clues into the alleged holdup, she said.

On Friday, Jonesboro police put the case in an inactive status due to no victim statement, suspects or leads.

Authorities said they learned while responding, that the victim was at a different location but were not able to find them. Also, there was no security footage available to find out what could have happened, police said.
