Child injured in Craighead County house fire, official says

CR 7743 House Fire

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A 12-year-old child received burns to his face as a result of a fire Friday in Craighead County, according to Philadelphia Fire Chief Curtis Miller.

Crews in Craighead County responded to a house fire on County Road 7743, just off Highway 141 in northern Craighead County.

According to E911 Director Jeff Presley, both Brookland and Philadelphia firefighters are on the scene.

Deputies on the scene originally told Region 8 News that everyone made it out of the home safely, but have learned from the Philadelphia Fire Department that one person was taken to a hospital for minor burns.

Miller said it appears that a flammable being kept too close to a heat source was the cause of the fire.

Crews on scene reported no one was injured in a Craighead County house fire.
