PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) - The 9th Annual Pilots for Christ event gave families a chance to fly across the skies of Paragould all for a good cause.
The funds raised went to support air transportation for those in medical need and provides funding to fuel the transports.
Arkansas Chapter President for Pilots for Christ Lance Winn said the event is special for him.
“It’s not just about a plane ride,” Winn said. “It’s about doing ministry. Without their financial support, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.”
Winn would rather be on the ground visiting with supporters than flying.
He said the entire day was filled with new experiences.
“It is a lot of fun for us and the folks coming,” Winn said. “We get a lot of first-time plane riders and it’s always a lot of fun to have a first-timer on board.”
About 250 people attended the event. Winn said he’s thankful to everyone.
“I just want to say, ‘Thanks,’ to all the people who’s come out because that’s what it’s all about," Winn said.
He said without their support, the organization wouldn’t be able to do its work.
