3 seriously injured in separate ATV crashes
Two children were seriously injured Monday night in an ATV crash.

DUNKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KAIT) - ATV crashes in 2 separate counties seriously injured 3 people Sunday, including 2 teen boys in Southeast Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kody J. Johnson, 14, was driving 1998 Kawasaki ATV on Route EE about a mile north of Kennett.

Just after 10 p.m., Johnson tried to turn left and crashed into a 2019 Polaris ATV, driven by Elijah W. Hobbs, 17.

The crash caused both vehicles to overturn before ejecting Hobbs and Johnson.

A helicopter took Hobbs to Regional One Health in Memphis, TN.

An ambulance took Johnson to Hayti Memorial Hospital.

The crash report states both drivers didn’t have a seat belt on.

In Scott County, Rebecca S. Williamson was driving south on County Road 401 around 8:45 p.m.

The 38-year-old Sikeston woman ran off the road about a mile south of Benton and overturned.

An ambulance took her to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

The report states Williamson did have a seat belt on.
