JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - With students gone for the summer, Arkansas State University will undergo several renovations on campus.
The most notable overhaul will take place at the Reng Student Union, with a major upgrade coming to the dining hall.
It’s the first upgrade to the hall in 15 years.
Dr. Bill Smith, associate vice chancellor for Marketing & Communications, said it’s all about enhancing the dining experience for the students.
“This is now on the what people call the caf side, the cafeteria side where it is being completely torn out, new stations installed and it will be a whole new look and feel come August,” Smith said.
Those new stations include new food options, including gluten-free and international food stations.
Sodexo, their dining vendor, is footing most of the cost involved in the upgrades.
For now, Sodexo will build a tent outside the student union so staff can continue serving during summer events or camps.
