STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - SEMO Electric customers were dealing with power outages due to down power lines in Stoddard County.

Officials with the company said the outage affected residents in the Bloomfield and Idalia service territory.

High winds struck north of Circle City and broke six power poles according to officials.

They originally reported more than 800 customers without power. As of 10:20 a.m. most of that power had been restored.

Mother Nature left a few messes this morning, including broken poles north of Circle City. As you go outside this morning, please watch for debris and stay away from downed power lines. Be safe.

SEMO Electric General Manager Sean Vanslyke said the power went out around 3:45 a.m.

He said is asking residents to stay away from downed power lines and other potential dangerous situations cause from storm damage.

Tree trimming crews and lineman were out cleaning up storm damage this morning, Vanslyke said.

Crews could be working through Wednesday.
