FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) - A Region 8 Razorback touched down in Austin.
Nick Hilson will compete the 400 meter hurdles in the NCAA Track and Field Championships. His best time this season is 51.22 seconds (46th nationally). It’s been quite the 2019 for the former Nettleton sprinter and A-State transfer.
“Well it’s a great accomplishment, coming in as a underdog and only been there for four months, it’s been a big transition and everything. My expectations for it, with all the training that we’ve done, is to come out as an All-American. It’s crazy because everything that we’ve gone through, this indoor and outdoor transition and training, Arkansas State to Arkansas, it’s really helped me mature as a runner and find myself in my event. Coach really talked about executing the race and making sure you’re picking yourself in the race. When you get to the last 3 hurdles, really drive through. And we’ve worked hard on the last 120 meters of my race.”
Nick is in action Wednesday at 8:30pm in the semifinals. You can watch him on ESPN3.
