FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) -A project to provide meals and fight hunger in Arkansas is nationally recognized.
According to a media release, Arvest Bank received the Silver Anvil Award for its 2018 1 Million Meals Campaign during an event in New York City.
The award is given by the Public Relations Society of America and honors the best public relations campaigns of the year.
The bank won in the Most Effective Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign for the project.
The project collected nearly 2.1 million meals and has provided nearly 16 million meals since it began in 2011, officials said.
The campaign touched nearly 140 communities around the state.
