ROKISKIS, Lithuania (KAIT/ NBC News) - A circus director locked himself into an enclosure with his bear after nature protection authorities took away permission to hold the animal in a cage outside his home in northern Lithuania.
He was given one week to rectify eight main shortcomings listed by the authorities.
The circus director has a history of run-ins with animal protection authorities.
A chimpanzee was taken away from him eight years ago.
The circus was fined last year for bad conditions for its animals.
