RECTOR, Ark. (KAIT) - A man suspected of stabbing a Clay County woman appeared in court on Monday, July 22 before a judge.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Randy Jones entered a home in the 700-block of LaSalle Street in Rector on July 19 illegally.
The affidavit said while inside, Jones pulled a hunting knife and attempted to stab a resident inside the home.
During the attack, another resident tried to help, but was stabbed in the neck and abdomen.
She was flown to Regional One Health in Memphis with serious injuries. She was last listed in critical condition.
Jones was arrested later Friday in Paragould and taken to the Greene County Detention Center.
On Monday, a Clay County judge found probable cause to charge Jones with two counts of first-degree battery. His bond was set at $100,000.
