Highland School District millage vote fails

HIGHLAND, Ark. (KAIT) -A millage increase for the Highland School District failed to pass Tuesday evening.

According to a Facebook post by the school district, the vote was 701 (58.22%) against compared to 503 voted (41.7%) for.

The results are in: the millage did not pass. 41.7 % for and 58.22 % against 503 Votes for 701 Votes against We appreciate everyone who voted and worked hard for our students!

If passed, the millage would have been used to refund existed bonded debts.

The millage also would have provided money for building and modernization projects around the district.
