Murder investigation underway after body found on side of road

Body Found By Mowing Crew On Side Of Road

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) - A murder investigation is now underway after a body was found on the side of the road, Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson said Wednesday.

Blytheville city mowing crews were mowing in the 2400-block South Elm Street Monday afternoon when they found the body.

After an autopsy by the Arkansas State Crime Lab, the body was identified as Kevondre Williams, 23, of Blytheville.

Thompson said six hours before the body was found, Williams’ family reported him missing to the police department.

The family told police that Williams was last seen on Aug. 13, 2019.

Thompson said the cause of death is being withheld, but did say the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
