BATESVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) - The Lyon Scots football team kick off their season of Saturday, but a bigger battle is beginning for Offensive Coordinator Kris Sweet, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
The Scots posted the news on their Twitter page Tuesday.
In a show of support for Coach Sweet, the team shaved their heads.
However Coach Sweet says there are far more people battling cancer who needs recognition and that the true story is what the boys did.
“I can’t speak enough of how special those kids are. There should be a lot of parents out there that should be proud of the way they act, not only my situation but how we see them everyday that lets face it most of the people in town and campus don’t see. They’re good kids,” Sweet said.
Today the Scots are showing the world that they are #SweetStrong and more importantly it’s not just about football.
