JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Hundreds of people donned cowboy hats and boots Saturday night to round up funds for the American Cancer Society.
Money raised at the Second Annual Cattle Baron’s Ball will fund a grant to get cancer patients to and from their doctor’s appointments.
Last year, they raised $50,000.
Event chair Leslie Conner hopes to surpass that amount because she says everyone is touched by the disease.
“Cancer affects everyone. It knows no boundaries," she said. "It doesn’t discriminate from age, gender, race, so again, cancer affects us all.”
Conner said they’re already thinking about next year’s events.
