ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KFVS) - Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer followed up Anibal Sanchez’s near no-hitter with six innings of no-hit ball.
Scherzer, a St. Louis native and Mizzou alum, struck out 11 and walked two over seven innings.
The no-hitter was broken up by Paul Goldschmidt, but the redbirds could only muster up one run.
Nationals take game two 3-1 and head to Washington, D.C. with a 2-0 lead in the series.
