HARDY, Ark. (KAIT) - One week after a devastating fire destroyed a well-known restaurant, the owners announced they plan to rebuild.
“We have had several messages asking when, and at this time we are unsure,” the owners posted on Facebook. “We will know more once we start the cleaning up and rebuilding process.”
Fire crews rushed to the popular BBQ joint in Hardy on Friday, Oct. 25.
Restaurant owners say the business was destroyed in the fire.
According to Hardy Fire Chief Austin Rose, investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire. He said there is not a confident cause determined yet but believes the fire started in the kitchen.
People in Hardy say this fire was a hit to the city as Bob and Sandy’s was a popular place to eat, but everyone is pitching in to help.
“It has just been an astounding place for everyone years and years back and to have good people in your community means a lot," Hardy Mayor Ernie Rose said.
Hardy Police Chief Tamara Taylor believes many elements played into why the building burned for so long, including that the building is made out of pine.
The owners and they say they are grateful no was injured; however, they did lose everything.
