JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - If your commute takes you down Jonesboro’s Gee Street, expect a detour.

Starting at 8:30 Tuesday morning, the city will begin work on the heavily-traveled street to replace a bridge on nearby Hester Street.

“Gee Street will re-open each day from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. while work is being done. Hester Street will remain closed to traffic,” the city said in an updated social media post. The city initially said that Gee Street would remain closed throughout the project.

Hester Street from West Nettleton Avenue to Apple Drive will also be closed to through traffic. This stretch of road will remain closed until the project is completed.
