Shooting investigation in Sikeston, Mo. leads to drug arrests

Sikeston police investigate shooting, drug arrest

SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - Around 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, Sikeston, Missouri Police learned that a 24-year-old man was shot three times on Montgomery Street.

He was shot in the abdomen area, and in each leg.

The victim told officers that he had stepped outside his apartment and was shot by an unknown subject.

He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for non-life threatening wounds.

During the investigation, several more shots were heard in the area.

Calls reported a second scene at the 100 block of Adams Street. Officers found shell casings around the home. No one inside was struck.

No suspect in the shooting has been arrested at this time.

Police also found multiple shell casings lying on the driveway of a separate residence on Montgomery Street.

Officials said the home owner was not at there at the time, but several people were found inside.

Detectives got a search warrant and found 104 grams of marijuana, packaging material and 100 ecstasy pills inside the home.

The homeowner arrived after the search was conducted.

Officials arrested him for delivery of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana over 35 grams.

He was taken to the department of public safety.

Detectives then investigated a home on the 400 block of Wilson Street in Scott County.

After getting a search warrant and searching the home, they found several items for packaging a controlled substance along with 11 individually packed bags of marijuana.

20-year-old Antonio Johnson was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance. Officers said his girlfriend, 19-year-old Zykeria Johnson was arrested for tampering with evidence.

Their bonds are set at $10,000 each.

Police are investigating all incidents.
