New Madrid, Mo., man charged in deadly Marston shooting

MARSTON, Mo. (KFVS) - A New Madrid man has been charged in the deadly Marston shooting.

According to New Madrid County Sheriff, Jeremy Guest faces several charges.

Guest faces charges of first degree murder, robbery of the first degree and armed criminal action.

Guest is being held in the Mississippi County Jail.

The sheriff’s office reports the shooting happened at the Pilot Truck Stop on Saturday, Feb. 16 around 3 a.m.

Deputies were dispatched after receiving a call about a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Datrae D. Hicks.

Hicks was taken to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

New Madrid County Coroner George Delisle scheduled an autopsy for Tuesday, Feb. 18.

New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, New Madrid Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control are still investigating the shooting.
