Area neighborhood works to “Chalk the Walk”

'Chalk the Walk'

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - With social distancing and COVID-19 being words that people have learned in recent days, the people in a Jonesboro neighborhood are working to help children learn while having fun at the same time.

It is called “Chalk the Walk” and it is being done in the Sage Meadows area of town.

Several area children at Sage Meadows in Jonesboro have been spending their time out of school having fun and chalking the walk. The project helps provide a positive and uplifting time in a very trying situation.

Several area children have taken chalk and written on the sidewalks and driveways at their houses, with phrases like “If you’re happy and you know it, wash your hands”, “Be Happy”, “Choose Joy” and “Spread Love.”

The goal, people in the neighborhood say, is to be positive and uplifting in a very trying and complex time.
