LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT) - Despite being behind bars, Arkansas prison inmates are doing their part in the battle against COVID-19.
According to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, inmates and staff in its Construction and Maintenance Program designed and created 250 face shields for the security staff.
The shields will be used in the ADC’s units and centers.
“They did the work very fast,” the ADC stated in a social media post. “We had a big challenge, so we figured out a way to meet it. It’s what we do.”
The ADC said they had ordered the masks from another supplier but did not receive them.
They put together 250 shields.
