Separate house fires keep JFD busy

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -The Jonesboro Fire Department had their hands full Sunday night and early Monday morning responding to two separate house fires.

The first fire occurred Sunday evening in the 800-block of East Oak Avenue, according to Jonesboro/Craighead County E-911.

A kid was cooking and left on the stovetop.

Everyone made it out of the home safely, and no injuries were reported.

A few hours later, at 12:30 a.m., JFD crews responded to another house fire in the 1000-block of Cartwright Street.

Again, according to dispatchers, the family made it out of the house unharmed.

The fire started in one of the kid’s bedrooms.

The home is a total loss and remains under investigation.
