PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) - Greene County investigators have identified two people found dead in a home.

Deputies responded to a call around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000-block of Greene Road 714, according to Sheriff Steve Franks.

“A family member of one of the victims found the bodies and called 911," he said.

During the investigation, sheriff’s investigators identified the bodies as belonging to 36-year-old Lindsey Downing and her husband, 37-year-old James Downing, both of Paragould.

“During the course of the investigation, evidence was discovered that determined a domestic [dispute] had occurred and Mrs. Lindsey Downing was in the process of leaving the residence,” Franks stated in the news release. "James Downing then shot and killed Mrs. Lindsey Downing and then turned the gun on himself and took his own life.”

Both bodies will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for autopsy.

Franks said investigators will also forward the case to prosecutors for review.
