JFD responds to house fire

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Fire crews responded early Thursday morning to a “working house fire” in west Jonesboro.

Jeff Presley, Jonesboro and Craighead County E911 director, reported the fire just after 5 a.m. Thursday.

It was located in the area of Huntington Avenue and Puryear Street.

According to the initial report, the fire was located underneath a carport.

The Jonesboro Fire Department dispatched multiple trucks and engines, as well as Battalion 1 and 2, along with Emerson Ambulance Service.

Crews worked to extinguish the flames and get everyone safely out of both living areas with no injuries.

By 5:40 a.m., a firefighter told Region 8 News they had put the fire out.

No word at this time on what might have started the fire.
