Flag Day ceremony held Sunday in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - An event was held Sunday afternoon in Jonesboro to honor the United States flag.

The Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation, Jonesboro American Legion, Jonesboro VFW and the Jonesboro Elks Lodge are among the groups that hosted a Flag Day celebration Sunday at the Veterans Monument at the Craighead County Courthouse.

“I still think it’s an important day to celebrate and honor the flag. And it’s also we’re not just honoring the flag. We’re also honoring our veterans who have fought under that flag to defend our freedoms that we enjoy up to even now,” said Jeremy Frakes, the Americanism Chair of the Jonesboro Elks Lodge.
