JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A Jonesboro woman faces serious charges after police say she stabbed her husband in the chest.
Officers went to a home at the 3800-block of Turfway Drive on Nov. 14 where a witness said 39-year-old Belinda Jordan had just assaulted a 37-year-old man.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Jordan was very intoxicated at the time of the incident and was unable to answer officers’ questions.
A witness told police he was sitting at the table drinking with the victim when Jordan came at her husband with a knife in each hand.
He said he tried to pull Jordan off of the victim. When he could not, he went to a neighbor’s house and called 911.
When officers arrived, they found a security camera pointed toward the table.
After obtaining a search warrant, investigators said the video revealed Jordan confront the victim at the table and argue with him. She then went to the kitchen to grab 2 knives.
The affidavit states she stabbed him with one hand while using her other hand to push him into the knife, then proceeded to stab him with both hands in the front.
The victim then ran out the front door and collapsed onto the ground. He was transported to St. Bernards Medical Center with multiple cuts to his chest and face.
On Monday a judge found probable cause to charge her with first-degree domestic battery and set her bond at $100,000.
She is set to be in court on Dec. 22.
