WYNNE, Ark. (KAIT) - Several communities had Small Business Saturday events, but the Cross County Chamber of Commerce is going the extra mile by highlighting local businesses the whole month of December.
It’s called 25 Days of Shopping Local, where each business is featured on the Chamber’s social media pages starting Dec. 1.
Chamber of Commerce President Cody Slater says that this year has been rough because of the pandemic, and they are trying to help mom and pop shops in any way they can.
“I think that everybody would agree that 2020 has been a rough year. Kinda what we wanted to do was come up with a way to support them through the holiday season and highlight just the things they’ve got going on,” Slater said.
The Cordial Cottage is one of those featured businesses.
Owner Charlotte Calvert says that they are thankful that the community has been loyal to them.
They have been serving the community since 1998, and even though the pandemic has made business challenges, they are still doing well.
“If people don’t shop local, a town will die, so we encourage everyone to shop local even if that means using our Facebook, using our Instagram,” Calvert said.
Their online sales have reached an all-time high. The shop is selling items to people all across the state and country.
