MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Tiger men get back in action on Wednesday night. Head coach Penny Hardaway promises changes to the starting lineup.
The U of M men got off to a slow start in each of the three games they played at the Crossover Classic in South Dakota. The Tigers won only one game while losing two. Hardaway looked for more production from the jump, and a much more cohesive unit throughout.
“First of all, we had to admit we didn’t go and play the right way. That’s one thing I’m trying to build here is a culture, That’s playing the right way and playing for your brother. and we all had to admit that’s not the way we and to represent ourselves. And none of us are losers. Talent alone is not enough. so, practices this week have been really hard. The guys have been unified. guys are determined. That tournament was meant for us to get better. Whether we went 3-0, 0-3, 2-1 or 21-2 whatever. We did get better from it, and you’ll see the difference tomorrow night,” Hardaway said.
On another note, Hardaway said JUCO transfer forward Ahmad Rand is back at practice after quarantining for contract tracing. He did not make the trip to South Dakota. He also said he’s expecting an answer on the eligibility of Evansville transfer DeAndre Williams by Friday.
The Tigers and Red Wolves tip-off at 7 pm Wednesday at FedExForum. It’s available on ESPN+.
