Perrin rings bell, early reports show him to be cancer-free

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The City of Jonesboro posted on Facebook Mayor Harold Perrin ringing the bell at his last chemotherapy treatment.

Perrin, who announced back in July that he would not seek reelection for health reasons, has been battling bladder cancer.

In the post, the city says, “The mayor still has a few follow-up appointments in the next few months, but his reports have shown him to be cancer-free, and he is definitely pleased to be finished with the chemo.

“I want to thank all my prayer warriors who came through for me. I know this has all be in God’s hands, and I am humbled by the support of our community,” the mayor said.
