WYNNE, Ark. (KAIT) - Construction is underway at the Wynne Sports Complex.
Future sites for a multipurpose building, pavilion, and playground are in the works.
Mayor Jennifer Hobbs says that the project will improve the quality of life in Wynne.
“We have good participation in our city league softball and baseball program and so we’re actually expecting a lot of visitors through the inclusive playground with siblings that come out to play,” said Hobbs. “It’s right here by the t-ball field and the girl’s high school softball field.”
The playground is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The pavilion and multipurpose area are projected to be open by the end of April.
Hobbs says they are excited to get the project finished.
The new playground will be the city’s first inclusive play area designed to be usable for children with disabilities.
It will serve families for years to come.
