Williams Baptist women’s basketball rallies in 4th to beat Arkansas-Monticello

MONTICELLO, Ark. (KAIT) - Williams Baptist women’s basketball got a marquee win Saturday in Monticello.

The Lady Eagles rallied from a double digit deficit in the 4th quarter to beat UAM 67-65. Cassidy Clayton hit the game winner, the freshman from Hoxie knocked down a 3 pointer in the waning minutes to give WBU a 66-65 advantage. Highland native Kelsey Abney had the assist and also a block at the buzzer to secure the Lady Eagle victory.

Marmaduke alum Reesa Hampton started the comeback, she hit 3 consecutive trifectas to trim a double digit deficit to 2.

WBU improves to 3-2 on the season. They’ll tip off American Midwest Conference play Thursday. The Lady Eagles will have road games at William Woods and Hannibal-LaGrange. Their next home game is January 12th vs. Missouri Baptist.
