LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT) - The state of Arkansas again saw increases in hospitalizations and total active cases with over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases reported Sunday.

The number of hospitalizations was again a record in the state, breaking a record set Saturday. As of Sunday, 1,234 people remain hospitalized due to the virus.

According to a tweet Sunday from Gov. Asa Hutchinson, the new cases have led to increased hospitalizations, which has impacted anyone needing treatment in a hospital.

There were also 194 people in the state on ventilators, down three since Saturday.

State health officials said there were 20 additional deaths reported Sunday, leaving the death toll at 3,749.

However, state health officials said Pulaski County was first in the state in new cases, with 292. Benton County was second with 213, while Washington County was third with 186.

Sebastian County was fourth with 112 while Faulkner County was fifth with 74.
