TRUMANN, Ark. (KAIT) - A Trumann woman faces a second-degree murder charge after police say she backed over her mother with a car.
According to Chief Jon Redman, officers responded to a person being struck by a vehicle Thursday, April 1, in the 200-block of Speedway Street.
When they arrived they found Linda McDaniel suffering from serious injuries. An ambulance took her to the hospital where she later died.
Redmon said officers learned her daughter, 56-year-old Kimberly Coulter, was intoxicated when the incident happened.
Police arrested Coulter Friday on suspicion of murder and driving while intoxicated. Redmon said she also faces a charge of refusing to submit to a blood-alcohol test.
Coulter appeared in court Monday for a probable cause hearing.
A judge issued a $100,000 cash-surety bond along with a May 28 court date.
