JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The countdown continues towards the Pack Day Spring Game.

We’ve seen various spring game formats over the years, like extra points for the defense forcing 3 and outs. Jones describes what you’ll see Saturday at 2:00pm at Centennial Bank Stadium.

“We’ll have #1 offense and #2 defense on one team, and then #1 defense and #2 offense on another team. We’ll be on opposite sidelines and we’ll compete. We’ll keep score, and there will be no live kicking. It’ll be very very competitive. And then our leadership group on Thursday will draft our entire organization. So they will pick the coaches, they will pick equipment personnel, they will pick the trainers, they will pick the recruiting department. Everyone in our organization will have a hand in the game come Saturday. And they’ll have a little bit at stake when we play the game.”

Here’s some more Pack Day Spring Game info from Arkansas State Athletics:

Centennial Bank Stadium gates will open at 12:30 p.m., and the team will take the field at 1:00 p.m. prior to the game’s 2:00 p.m. start time. Those attending are encouraged to wear masks, practice social distancing and follow other Arkansas Department of Health guidelines. Hand-sanitizing stations will be placed on the concourses.

Gates 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 19 will all be accessible, and there is no admission charge. Concessions will be available on the west concourse, and the A-State band and Red Wolves Dancers will also be in attendance, adding to the traditional game-day atmosphere. Additionally, there will be multiple fan-engagement activities associated with the day. A-State will host a punt-pass-kick competition for youth in grades 1-6 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Allison Field inside Centennial Bank Stadium. The winner for each grade level will be announced during the spring game. All tailgating areas will be open, and there will be Fan Fest events taking place in Tailgate City on the west side of the stadium from noon through 2:00 p.m. The activities will feature face painting, inflatables and refreshments, while a caricature and balloon artist will also be available.
