Gas leak shuts down Johnson Avenue

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Jonesboro police shut down parts of Johnson Avenue following a natural gas leak.

Just before 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 16, E911 Director Jeff Presley reported a gas leak in the 700-block of West Johnson between Floyd and Culberhouse Streets.

Multiple fire trucks responded to the scene, as well as Jonesboro police who blocked off the road while workers with the gas company worked to fix the leak.

At 11:46 a.m., Presley gave the all-clear, saying the leak had been sealed and the roadway was reopened.
