Investigation continues after body found on Curtview Drive

Jonesboro police also respond to shooting, stabbing during busy Friday

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for an autopsy after being found Friday afternoon by juveniles in a ditch along Curtview Drive.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department Desk Sergeant, officers got a call around 3:50 p.m. Friday about the body being discovered.

Jonesboro police said the body was found by juveniles.

Jonesboro Police are on scene at Allen Park after the discovery of a deceased person by some juveniles playing in a ditch. CID is beginning their Investigation.

Jonesboro Police Department Public Information Specialist Sally Smith said the juveniles found the body near Allen Park.

Yarkeisha Riley lives in the area and says it was a scary experience.

“I’ve got kids out here playing in this neighborhood, and I don’t want my kids witnessing stuff like that. I know it’s a part of life, but I don’t want them witnessing stuff like that. It’s horrible,” said Riley.

She expressed her condolences.

During a two-hour period Friday, Jonesboro police also responded to a shooting at the intersection of Aggie Road and Fisher Street and a stabbing on Race Street.
